Portland

Pretty quiet today. No birds in notebook at all for first 15 mins but then 8 Wheatears together in the compound area at the bill quarry, all of the Greenland/Icelandic variety. Later at least another 4 moving north up the slopes. Normally a late April early May bird, everything seems to be at least a couple of weeks early this year.

A Portland oddity

Lovely male Continental Stonechat just south of the Crown Estate fields was tick No 100

A quick look in at Tout quarry saw more of the Greenland type Wheatears moving north. Also of note a couple of Siskins, a Yellow Wag a House Martin and a local Raven.
