Spent a good 4 hours looking for the Gull-billed Tern yesterday but couldnt connect. This morning had one shot at it as had to be in Norfolk late afternoon and wouldnt be back for at least a week. Anyway got to Abbotsbury car park and began making my way towards the tank traps. Most of the scanning was seawards until I suddenly saw this rather lumbering Tern heading away from me virtually over the fields. It had to be it. It was then a quick decision, do I go for rather distant photos or get important views through my scope. The scope won out and I was able to watch it quite well.
So no shots today but did have this photo from yesterday of the The Bill from the Bridport road, I have put an arrow pointing to the general direction of where the bird was.
